Description
This is an unusual and fascinating look into the past. This is a couple of sections of the October 26, 1921 edition of the Los Angeles newspaper, The Evening Herald. Among the items reported is the reaction by "sportsmen" to the sudden death of Bartholomew "Bat" Masterson who collapsed at his desk at the Morning Telegraph in New York City on the previous day.
Other interesting articles involve President Warren G. Harding addressing the race problem (Some things never change) and a sports article about the shake up of AAA minor league team, The San Francisco Seals, featuring Joe DiMaggio's first manager (Who was a pitcher at the time) and future saloon owner, Frank "Lefty" O'Doul. Please see photos for more detail and condition.
