Description
Ca. 1400 AD. European. An iron lancehead with narrow lozenge-section blade, conical socket with collar to the neck. The Lance was a formidable weapon when used from horseback. Historically used by German, French, British and Indian cavalry troops and could punch through armour and transfix adversaries with ease. Excellent condition; on a custom stand. Provenance: Private Oxfordshire collection; Formerly acquired on the European art market from pre-2000 collections. Size: L:603mm / W:48mm ; 580g
