20th century lacquered gold and laced in bright orange and comprising a russet-iron fourteen-plate o-boshi kabuto fitted with gilt-metal shinodare and a large two-stage chrysanthemum tehen kanamono, a wide five-lame manju jikoro terminating in large fukigaeshi applied with stenciled doe skin and gilt-metal heraldic crests of the Tokugawa family, the mabisashi decorated with stenciled doe skin and mounted with kawagate dai pierce carved with chrystanthemum scroll and large gilf metal kuwagata and a wood Chinese lion maedate lacquered gold; menpo with a hinged nose and standing flanges on the cheeks, fitted with a three-lame solid-plate yodarekake; the cuirass a nuinobu do with the munaita and wakiita decorated with stenciled doe skin, the front applied with a decorative ring and gromet and eight sections of five-lame kusazuri; the sleeves tsutsu gote with additional tsubo sode attached to the upper sections; osode; kawara haidate with additional scales in the split configuration on the bottom edge;tsutsu suneate; animal fur boots; one armor box and an armor stand.Provenance: Bonhams, The Owston Collection, lot # 933, 26 Jun 2010, Sydney.
