Pablo Picasso (Spanish 1881-1973) Fleurs (for U.C.L.A.). 1961 lithograph printed in colors on Arches paper, signed in pencil lower right and numbered 23/100 lower left. Sheet size 29 5/8" x 21", unframed. Provenance: Property from a Private Collector, Marin County, California. Very good condition wih bright colors and some typical toning to paper.. In 1961, an exhibition to celebrate the artist's birthday was held in Dickson Art Center, now Perloff Hall on the UCLA campus. It featured more than 250 works from all of the artists significant artistic periods: blue, rose, African, cubist and post-cubist, in the form of oil paintings, water colors, drawings, lithographs and prints. To commemorate the exhibition and to support the university, Picasso produced and signed an edition of 100 lithographs.
