Robert Doisneau Charming 1950s Photograph "Boy with Cat"
Measuring 7.375" x 9.5", Paris, Ca. 1955. A black and white photograph, entitled "Boy with Cat", depicting a young boy on the street, petting a black cat seated on a window ledge. The image was taken by French photographer, Robert Doisneau, and has his studio stamp on verso. Faint wear to the edges, very fine.
Robert Doisneau (1912-1994) came to prominence in the 1930s, and was famous for his photographs of everyday life on the streets of Paris. During World War II, he was drafted into the French army as both a soldier and photographer. Following the war, he briefly worked as a fashion photographer for "Vogue", before returning to street photography.
