Of Classical urn form, beaded rim and registers with anthemion and laurel motifs, with ram-form handles, swan-form spout, and acorn finial, the body with oval repoussé roundels depicting Neoclassical figures: an oracle to front and mourner near Greek armor to back, the base on floriate feet; later engraved, "Corinthian Challenge Trophy/ The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Inc./ Presented by E.J. Lehman/ To Be Won Three Times By the Same Owner For Permanent Possession./ To Be Awarded One Year to the Winner Over the Corinthian Course in the Ring, Which Shall Include a Thirty Foot In And Out-- 4 Ft. In and 4 Ft. 6 In. Out./ The Course Shall Also Include a White Board Fence Not Over 4 Ft. 3, And Brush Jumps./ To Be Ridden by Amateur Members of Recognized Hunt Clubs, in Colors./ Conformation 25 Per Cent; Performance 75 Per Cent.," marked to underside.
