Description
Among my favorite 19th century weapons are these pistols with spring loaded bayonets. They are a marriage of technical ingenuity, artistic design, and mans never ending desire to create new and better weapons to fight our fellow man... to the death!
I always thought switchblades were cool. In the 1960s all the big kids in our neighborhood in Detroit had them, and those guys were cool. My friends big brothers, - Greasers-, which indicated how one kept his hair in place. What could be cooler than greasy hair, side-winder pointed shoes, straight leg jeans, switchblades, and a 20 cent pack of non-filter smokes rolled up in your T-shirt sleeve?
These antique shooter-stabbers are just a classier and more sophisticated Bad-Ass weapon. This pistol has two barrels in over-under configuration. It is a tap-action mechanism where the shooter fires the first barrel. Then he turns the tap, re-caps the nipple, and fires the second barrel. If those two shots don't get the job done, the last resort is Le Bayonet. Pull back on the trigger guard and -voila- out snaps the blade... and you stab your opponent as many times as you want.
Circa 1840 give or take 5 years. Steel mounted with some tasteful, subdued hand engraving. English Walnut grip. Box lock design. 3 inch round removable barrels... both proof marked. Spring loaded bayonet functions. Overall NRA -Very Good condition. 100% original, 100% complete except for the safety lock behind the hammer which was removed, and mechanically perfect. Metal is steel grey with good markings. No finish remains.
Materials, Packing, and Shipping on this item is $15.00. Insurance is $1.50 per hundred. Signature required service $3.50 by US Mail and $6.50 by UPS. The insurance and signature service are optional, but there can be no insurance for theft or loss without the -signature required- service.
