Description
Ed White II: NASA Gemini Group Achievement Award from His Personal Collection. A 13.5" x 10.5" (sight size) certificate, framed to an overall 15.25" x 12.25". NASA presented this award at Washington, D.C., on November 22, 1966, to "The Gemini Astronaut Team/ Manned Spacecraft Center/ For successfully completing the specific objectives of the Gemini Program in proving/ that man can live in space for periods up to 14 days, perfecting rendezvous and/ docking techniques, demonstrating man's capabilities in extravehicular activity, landing a spacecraft with great precision, and executing important scientific experiments." It is signed in facsimile by James E. Webb and Robert C. Seamans Jr. to the right of the gold NASA seal. The date of presentation was exactly one week after splashdown of the Gemini 12 (final) mission. An exclusive award as there were only sixteen men to fly on a Gemini mission. Original frame a bit rough, certificate extremely fine.
