Cast Iron Fireplace Back, with embossed crest of Philip II (1527-1598), husband of Mary I (1516-1558); topped with his motto "Dominus Mihi Adiutor" (The Lord is My Help), with crown above a crest flanked by a mirrored pair of rampant lions, 25" high, 29 1/2" wide. Condition commensurate with age. Well repaired crack. Provenance: From the Estate of Frank Cowan
