Description
Wall map on rods. Not in Modelski. Excellent resume of the railroads of the nation west to Denver. The Hannibal and St. Joseph, was later absorbed by the Atcheson, Topeka & Santa Fe. It shows the AT&SF reaching Santa Fe via Bent Canyon and Trinidad, Colorado rather than Raton Pass in New Mexico; the Denver and Rio Grande reaches only to Pueblo and the Texas Pacific reaches west only to Fort Worth. Antedates the Colorado Railroad Wars of 1877 to 1879. Colorado just received statehood. Shows each stop along the routes. Palmer Lake, formerly Weisport, in Colorado called Divide Lake. Professionally restored. Water stained, yet fine for display. A very early Rand, McNally wall map. No wall maps of this railroad have appeared in 25+ years of Antique Map Price Record. Rare. Seminal Railroad Wall Map for the West "Old Reliable Hannibal & St. Joe"
