Description
One of the most influential cars of the 20th century which embodies the true heritage of the American automobile. Exceptional restored condition. Ready for your hometown parade! The frame and most of the body forward of the driverÕs seat were purchased in 1961. The wooden ÔHackÕ body was purchased as a kit in the middle 1960Õs. This car was a favorite on the Illinois Valley Antique Auto Club (IVAAC) Ôshow circuitÕ for many years and was once used to drive the entire Budd family more than seventy miles to their motherÕs hometown of Emden for a hometown festival there (thatÕs a long way in a Model ÔTÕ). Carl Budd started a tradition of Budd drivers leading the Lacon Old Settlers Parade; chauffeuring Mayor Delmas Pettit and his wife every year from the late 1960Õs until his death in 1978. Vernon took over the wheel after that and drove the mayor annually until he left office. The Depot Hack was driven during Old Settlers several times afterwards by a son. Car was in running condition when parked. Vernon and Charline took exceptional care of this car and would take little to no effort to get this one running again.
