Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok or Sukhothai, ca. 15th century CE. A lovely pottery jar presenting a squat, bulbous body, narrow neck, and circular, flared rim, all sitting upon a flat, circular base. Enveloped in a matte glaze of mottled chocolate brown and caramel hues, the beautiful dish is adorned with 3 rings of an incised, gridded pattern. A fine example from Thai culture! Size: 4.875" in diameter x 3" H (12.4 cm x 7.6 cm)
Provenance: ex-Ashland University Museum, Ashland, Ohio, USA, donated to Ashland University between July 1994 to December 1998
