Description
For your consideration is a Gorham sterling silver vase on stand circa 1870. This stunning Neoclassic design is wrought with beautiful details including (3)ram's head escutcheon near the mouth of the vase and a lovely 3-legged stance with classic detailing. The vase measures 7" in height and is marked on the underside of the braces that run between the legs with the Gorham maker's mark used from 1863-1890, "Sterling", "280" and "1100B". The "B" may be a date stamp which would correlate to a date of 1869 according to the Gorham archives. This offering weighs 9.5 ounces.
Provenance: From the private collection of a retired Army General in San Antonio, Texas.

Condition
Item is in excellent condition with no breaks, missing pieces, damage, heavy wear or repair. One side (between a set of legs) is monogrammed with the letter "G".
