3 Peruvian Textiles. Including: 1) Headband Fragment, Wari Culture, c 700-1000 CE, Peru. Intricate back structure. Profile felines; 2) Belt fragment, Inca culture, c.1400-1550 CE, Peru. Long piece of an often 10 foot long belt of warp faced alpaca. 3 color double cloth with the unused color floating in between the two cloths when not exposed; 3) Mantle Border, Chimu Culture, c. 1200-1550 CE, Peru. Complemental alpaca weft weave on cotton base fabric border to a formerly large, quilted cotton mantle showing profile pelicans on a pebble weave ground. Provenance: ex Jean Lions Collection, Geneva, Switzerland (1951-1980). Ranging in Size from: 9.5'' x 1'' (24 x 3 cm) to 67'' x 1.5'' (170 x 4 cm).
