c. 1864 Abraham Lincoln CDV Portrait, measuring 2.5" x 4" image taken from the original Mathew Brady "Five Dollar" Image and likely published at the time of the 1864 Presidential Election. This Albumen CDV Image is mounted on its original CDV card mount which carries the backmark of the publisher " "J. Cady of Brandon, Vermont" - printed on the reverse. The Portrait of Lincoln is lightly retouched and enhanced version (with engraved elements) of the Mathew Brady "Five Dollar" pose taken by Anthony Berger in Washington, DC on February 9, 1864 and designated by Lloyd Ostendorf as O-92. This wonderful Abraham Lincoln CDV Portrait is in excellent condition exhibiting sharp focus, strong contrast and rich, warm tonality. The Photo is clean and crisp and the Card Mount have light toning on the reverse but little or no edge wear.
