For your consideration is a stupendously detailed 19th Century Florentine pietra dura plaque in frame. The composition of this plaque reminiscent of an "Old Master" oil on canvas painting and the inlay is so masterful that, at first glance, it does appear to be a painting - but don't be fooled! Please take time to peruse all the attached images to see the immense detail in this masterful work. There is a signature in the lower left corner reading "Cappini" or "Coppini" accompanied by a monogram of sorts reading "SM" (or vice versa). As seen in frame, the pietra dura plaque measures 9 1/4"(w) x 7"(h). Framed, the piece measures 16 7/8" x 14 3/4". The piece is housed in a nice period gilt wood frame with aubergine velvet matting. This offering weighs 5 pounds, 5 ounces.
