Jack Levine (1915-2010); Self Portrait in ink and wash on special "Papier Malliol (sic - Maillol?)" Height of art 8 inches (20.3 cm.) X width of art 6 1/4 inches (15.8 cm.) PROVENANCE: The art is inscribed by the first owner Whitney Morgan, "Self Portrait by Jack Levine September 18, 1937 Boston Mass, the date based on the enclosed newspaper date that wrapped the original gift of the special paper used for the drawing with a later pencil signature by Levine in June 1964 with an August 1964 typed Authentication from artist William H. Littlefield about asking Levine to sign the drawing at that time, matted and framed with the label of the Unicorn Frame Shop 505 East 12th Street, NYC, Together with an October 1964 note that it was purchased by Julian Hensky(?) from the Five Towns Music and Art Foundation.
