This lot consists of an oil on canvas painting, executed in the modern art style of art nouveau painter Augusto Giacometti (Swiss, 1877-1947). Hand inscription at lower right reads "Augusto Giacometti". Image is reminiscent of the stained glass windows for which Giacometti is so well known. a welcomed addition to any fine art collection. Dimensions measure approximately Framed = 27" x 22.5" / Image Sight 21.5" x 17".
Augusto Giacometti (16 August 1877 – 9 June 1947) was a Swiss painter from Stampa, Graubunden, cousin of Giovanni Giacometti who was the father of Alberto, Diego and Bruno Giacometti. He was a prominent as a painter in the Art Nouveau and Symbolism movements, one of the first abstract painters, for his work in stained glass, as a proponent of murals and a designer of popular posters.
