A MING DYNASTY TEA BOWL, DEER AND MONKEY IN LANDSCAPE, PROBABLY JINGDEZHEN, JIAJING (1522-1566), blue painted white glazed porcelain, the wide bell form cup is centered on the interior by a flower bloom medallion and the rim with double blue rings, the exterior painted in a starry landscape as a monkey descends from a tree; he is perhaps a mischievous god and a birds watches the scene as a deer notices the mystical arrival, the foot encircled in blue and is centered by a square Fu Gui Jia Qi style underglaze blue mark. Diameter: 4 7/8"
Condition
