Guglielmo Marconi TLS Re: Invitation to Paris
MARCONI, Guglielmo. Italian physicist and inventor (1874-1937) who devoted his life to experiments in wireless communication, and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1909. Typed Letter Signed, “G. Marconi”, 1p bifolium, on Reale Accademia D'Italia letterhead, 6.5” x 8.5”, Rome, April 20, 1933. To General Charles H. Sherrill, in part, "Very many thanks, also on behalf of my wife, for your kind invitation to Paris; I sincerely hope it may be possible for us to accept it, although it very seldom happens that I have time to halt even for a day or two in Paris on my way to and from London." Remnants of rust from paper clip impression at top left, else Fine condition.
