Cheyenne Beaded Hide Moccasins, with Dragonflies
late 19th century
sinew-sewn and beaded using colors of white, royal blue, sky blue, pink, translucent red, pumpkin, and forest green
length 9-1/4 inches
Collected by Paul Cowles (1945-2020), Rush, New York.
Cowles was a lifetime collector of First Nations Art and Artifacts, as well as fine firearms and other militaria and Americana. As a US Army Veteran serving in SE Asia in the early and mid-1960's many of his collecting interests revolved around the US military and sporting arms.

Condition
Cuffs are torn and hide is dry. Heels of both moccasins have varying degrees of bead loss.
