Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, Cheyenne, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A Pai of beaded hide moccasins, the toe and heel completely covered in a light blue with cobalt, red, yellow, and white patterns. The circular motif known as a keyhole pattern symbolizes the earth's portal / opening from which human ancestors first emerged from. The soles are worn from use, but the beadwork on the toes and most of the shoe is intact and excellent condition! Size: 10" L x 3.5" W x 3" H (25.4 cm x 8.9 cm x 7.6 cm)

Condition
Wear to soles from use, and hole around upper seam / sole on right shoe. Some fraying to thread and seams on heels with losses to beadwork in this area. Rest of beading is nearly all intact and very good. Light mineral / earthen deposits.
