Chinese Yuan Dynasty Blue and White Ruyi Porcelain Lidded Jar. Potted with a vessel shape jar, globular belly, heavy on shoulder, short neck, round close mouth lip with dome lidded finial bud, and raised on flat wide round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue fine color, depicted of flowers bloom in round medallion and Ruyi shaped large pendants filled by scrolling clouds, interspersed by floral and fruiting banquets. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
