Ten 18th century mezzotints with etching by the artist Christian Rugendas after his father G.P. Rugendas's paintings (George Philipp Rugendas, b. 1666-1742).
Battle Scenes With Horses published by Christian Rugendas in Augsburg.
Circa 1745.
10 mezzotints with etching are printed in sepia colored ink over an underlying impression on handmade laid paper.
Trimmed below the plate mark.
Lettered inscribed below the image borderline: (left) George Philippe Rugendas inv.; (right) Christian Rugendas Sculpsit et excudit Aug. Vind.
Several have numbers or alphabets on each plate (view all photos for accuracy).
Dimensions: individual plate images range between: 5 1/2 in. x 7 in. > 8 1/2 in. x 10 1/2 in.
All 10 works are unframed.
Condition: Plates are clean and the silhouettes are well defined, No tears, holes, losses or stains, markings are clear, foxing noted on outside of plate line not affecting interior plate image.
Provenance: private estate.
