Description
A pair of Chinese lidded bronze cocoon vessels dating from the Warring States period or the Western Han dynasty. Each vessel has a pair of beast head handles holding engaged rings. They are decorated throughout with stylized geometric designs.
Dimensions are: 10 1/4 inches tall X 11 1/2 inches wide, 26 cm X 29.2 cm. Weight: together both weigh 6750 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Both feature age appropriate wear including tarnishing.
Provenance: From the estate of Lim Kee Chin, who was Singapore's trade commissioner to Hong Kong in the 1960s. Mr. Lim acquired these items while he was in Hong Kong.
