Description
A Chinese handscroll with a watercolor and ink on silk painting attributed to Jiao Binzheng. The painting features a gathering of twenty scholars with an inscription and three seals. It is accompanied by four archaic characters with two inscriptions and two seals, as well as two commentaries, one with one seal and the other with two seals. All are mounted on a silk backing.
Dimensions are: the painting measures 11 inches tall X 90 1/2 inches wide, 27.9 cm X 229.9 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: The painting has staining, creasing and abrasions. The silk has darkened with age.
Provenance: From Mrs. Kiang in Boston, Massachusetts. The lot was acquired by her mother in Taiwan prior to the 1980s.
