Description
1847 TEXAS Narrative of Texan Santa Fe Expedition Trade Routes Mexico Kendall

The best account of the most defining event in Texas history!

George Wilkins Kendall’s 1844 account of the Texan Sante Fe Expedition was initiated by his travels into the Republic of Texas. He learned of the Mexican military and the easy in which they took Texans prisoner – Kendall himself was caught in the crossfire and taken to a leper colony in Mexico. He recounted the events of his imprisonment and suffering and the disputes between the lines of Texas and New Mexico.

“Narrative of the Texas Sante Fe Expedition” discusses the trade routes established by the Sante Fe Trail, descriptions of mid-19th-century Texas cities such as Houston and Galveston, accounts of poor people in Mexico, cultural dances and songs, sightings of animals indigenous to the American Southwest – rattlesnakes, buffalo and tarantulas – and hunting expeditions! An incredible work of westward expansion and American settlers!
