Description
Johannes de Vou and Romeyn de Hooghe (Dutch). Coat of Arms engraving from "Caart van de stad Rotterdam, en gezigt langs de Maas, benevens de afbeeldingen van de voonaamste publique gebouwen." Published in Rotterdam, ca. 1694. The Rotterdam coat of arms is flanked by two lions, a pair of putti (with a pair of putti below as well), six coats of arms of Burgomasters and other city officials, and 10 smaller coats of arms of the "Stadsheerlijkheden". An impressive hand-colored engraving from the most spectacular Dutch city atlas entitled "Caart van de stad Rotterdam, en gezigt langs de Maas, benevens de afbeeldingen van de voonaamste publique gebouwen." Truly a wonderful find for any collecter interested in Rotterdam or city atlases! Size: 19.375" L x 32.5" W (49.2 cm x 82.6 cm) Size w/ border: 21.125" L x 33.75" W (53.7 cm x 85.7 cm)
