The costumes include: Gump-green fatigue jacket with Private and flower patches and name tapes reading "Gump" and "U.S. Army", along with matching cargo pants and scarf, both labeled with interior Motion Picture Costume Co. labels and the shirt also handwritten with "MPCC TH" on the inner collar; Lt. Dan-green fatigue jacket with "Taylor" name tape along with matching cargo pants, both similarly labeled with "LT DAN" handwritten and the pants also with "MPCC", matching green boxers handwritten with "MPCC", black gun holster and costumer tag labeled "LT. DAN"; Bubba-green fatigue jacket with Motion Picture Costume Co. label along with "MPCC" and "Bubba" handwritten, matching cargo pants with "MPCC" and "Bubba" handwritten and matching boxers with "MPCC" handwritten, along with two costumer's tags labeled "Bubba". This iconic collection of instantly recognizable costumes from three important characters of one of the most beloved films of the 1990s and arguably of the 20th century. The film was an enormous success as the top-grossing film in North America released in that year, earning over $677 million worldwide during its theatrical run. It won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects and Best Film Editing, and also garnered multiple other awards and nominations, including Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards and Young Artist Awards. In 2011, the Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
