Marilyn Monroe Lock of Hair From Stylist Sydney Guilaroff W/(5) Documents of Provenance - This is a genuine lock of hair which was cut from Marilyn Monroe by her hairstylist Sydney Guilaroff. Guilaroff was a hair stylist during Hollywood's Golden Age who was the first to receive on-screen credit in films. He worked for more than forty years at the Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios on more than a thousand films, and was instrumental in crafting many of the hairstyles which became the signature looks for numerous film stars. According to the accompanying certificate of authenticity, this lock of hair was included in a pouch of hair which was acquired from Guilaroff along with signed certification on February 9th, 1979. This lock of hair was removed from the pouch and mounted on a ready to frame display along with a genuine dress swatch, description of the piece and a photograph of Marilyn Monroe. The piece will be accompanied by a certificate of origin, letter and certificates of authenticity, certificate of provenance and letter of provenance, which are all issued by Regents Gallery. The letter of provenance shows a photo of the original signed letter from Sydney Guilaroff which states that the hair is from hair sessions with Monroe. This piece has excellent investment potential, as collection the hair of famous entertainers has become a booming industry, and in general celebrity hair has been increasing in value over time.
