Jean H. Halter (1916 - 1981): An American born artist who studied at Converse College and began her career painting antique chairs. Together with her husband, Robert, they owned a restaurant in the town of New Hope, Pennsylvania, where they hung paintings of local artists on the walls. Jean had experience in restoring antiques, so Robert encouraged her to try painting. Her expressive illustrations sold immediately, and the commissions started rolling in. Today these works are on display in many renowned collections across the globe where they are enjoyed by critics and collectors alike.
