Description: The book contains a full page hand written warm inscription to Major General George H. Olmsted from General A. C. Wedemeyer dated May 23, 1960. In 1944 and 45 Olmsted reported to Gen Wedemeyer in the Pacific Theater. He engineered the rescue of American POWs at the time of the Japanese surrender without a loss. Other accomplishments are noted in the article about him at Wikipedia. The map in back is present. Very pleasing condition. Full refund if not satisfied.
