Rare original Russian medal to the Defender of Free Russia is the first state award of the Russian Federation, was established on July 2, 1992, the last award was given on July 25, 2006.The medal is awarded by the President of the Russian Federation for the courage shown in defending the constitutional order during the attempted state coup on August 21, 1991, for his contribution to solving national problems, for strengthening Russian statehood.The Medal to the Defender of Free Russia is made of tombak - a type of brass with copper and zinc content and has the shape of a circle. On the obverse of the medal, in the center of the cross, bordered with laurel and oak leaves, St. George slaying a dragon, and an inscription in Russian 1991, August 21. The reverse side of the medal depicts the House of Soviets of Russia and the barricades, below there is an inscription in Russian - Defender of Free Russia. The medal is connected to a block covered with half blue, half St. George ribbon. Consigner guarantees authenticity.
