Russian Empire vintage rare medal - In memory of the 50th anniversary of the service of Professor I. V. Buyalsky. In the middle is a bas-relief profile portrait of Professor Buyalsky's. There is an explanatory inscription in Russian on the border - From the Imperial Medical-Surgical Academy and the Russian medical class. The signature of the medalist at the bottom in the edge of the arm - P. Brusnitsyn. Russian Empire, Bronze, 1864. Placed in an elegantly carved frame with burgundy velvet medal protector and a ring for hanging at the top. Ilya Vasilievich Buyalsky 1789-1866 Russian surgeon, Professor Emeritus of the Imperial Medical and Surgical Academy, Honorary Member of the Imperial Moscow University. Pavel Lvovich Brusnitsyn 1816-187 Russian medalist, academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Born into the family of Lev Brusnitsyn - the discoverer of placer gold in Russia.
