Colonial America, 1785. Extremely fine Coin Silver Soup Ladle. Joseph.& Nathaniel Richardson (Active between 1785-1791), Philadelphia. Joseph Richardson, Jr. (1752-1831) and Nathaniel (1754-1827) worked in partnership, continuing the business of their father, Joseph, Sr. (1711-1784). Embossed Scallop Shell Bowl with Bright-Cut Engraved Handle. 2 Monos. Measures approx. 14.75". Bowl measures approx. 3.5" across. Weighs approx. 6.8 OZT Provenance: Directly from consigner. Her husband was a doctor on The Main Line, Wayne, Pennsylvania. He predominantly collected Philadelphia silver, London silver and other objects of considerable interest including fine art, period furniture, Oriental rugs and fine reproductions in the manner of Williamsburg Virginia furnishings by kittinger and Baker.
