Description
A Chinese blue and white ginger jar with a lid dating from the 18th or 19th century. The body and lid depict a scene with the "three friends of winter": bamboo, pine, and plum with bats.
Dimensions are: 17 inches tall X 8 1/2 inches wide, 43.2 cm X 21.6 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The lid has a hairline to the interior and significant overpainting to the exterior. The jar itself has significant repairs and a crack to the rim as well as numerous star cracks to the interior and exterior.
Provenance: From a private collector in Southern California.
