A mixed group of chert and flint tools comprising: a pointed borer with inked legend 'Corfe Mullen / 200 / Abbevillian'; a pestle with fossil sea-urchin embedded, inked legend '1202 / Abbevillian / flint pounder / Hembury 270' terrace / Lychett Matravers / Dorset / Fossil Sea-Urchin / [...]Bechtel exposed'; wooden display frame section with labels 'Lower Palaeolithic Abbevillian Flint Scraper c.5-400,000 BC Ex Sleight, Corfe-Mullen Dorset 1249', 'The Abbevillian Culture is very early Acheulean and the find-spot is on 170' terrace.', '1250 Lower Palaeolithic Abbevillian Pebble Chopper c. 5-400,000 BC from Sleight Pit Corfe Mullen Dorset' with corresponding scraper and chopper. 620 grams total, 53-79mm (2 - 3").
