Both of these books are in Latin and are from the 14th century (1557 and 1519-1556).This book comes from a collection of 22 vellum and leather bound ecclesiastic themed books and bibles, most appearing to be protestant as opposed to catholic or eastern orthodox, listed in lots and separately from the collection of Dr. George Lawrence Scherger.

Indiana University, University of Leipzig, University of Berlin, Cornell University PhD 1899. 3rd president of Columbia College in Chicago 1927-1929. Professor of history, Armour Institute of Technology (now the Illinois Institute of Technology). Minister, musician, writer, historian, educator and author of the evolution of modern liberty. The pallbearers at his funeral were Illinois governor Dwight H. Green, Chicago mayor Edward joseph Kelly, US senator Wayland Brooks and Oscar Mayer.
