It was released by Columbia Records on February 11, 1974, and certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in 1995 to commemorate sales exceeding 500,000 units. This album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot Country LP's chart, and spawned Ms. Tucker's third Number One single, "Would You Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone)" on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Subsequent singles included "The Man That Turned My Mama On (peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart) and "I Believe the South is Gonna Rise Again" (peaking at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart). The beautiful album cover, creatively directed and photographed by Bill Barnes, features a young Tanya soulfully gazing out a window while surrounded by flowers and ornate drapery. One of her most critically acclaimed works, the March 2, 1974 issue of Billboard reviewed this album as "the little girl who sings grown up songs has some pretty strong ones here. And she does an extraordinary amount of that done previously by others."
