Description
PROVENANCE:
From collections of Victor J. Drack Jr. (1934-2019) of Kinnelon, St. Augustine, FL. A telecommunication Engineer, a successful businessman in Northern Florida. In the initial years following his retirement he and his wife traveled extensively around the world to many countries. He put interest in collecting glass art, especially antique Peking glass and his late wife became an avid collector and had added more than 40 pieces.
Dimensions: Weight: 1550g, Height: 27 cm, Diam.: 13 cm
Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Blue Dragon Peking Glass Carved Vase. The Peking glass shaped into a large vase, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging slight flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. All reserved in Blue and White glaze. The body carved with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a carving beneath the attractive egg-yolk-yellow. The design is well-proportioned, the clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous.
The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
