PROVENANCE:
From collections of Victor J. Drack Jr. (1934-2019) of Kinnelon, St. Augustine, FL. A telecommunication Engineer, a successful businessman in Northern Florida. In the initial years following his retirement he and his wife traveled extensively around the world to many countries. He put interest in collecting glass art, especially antique Peking glass and his late wife became an avid collector and had added more than 40 pieces.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Yellow Peking Glass Carved Guanyin Motif. This glass statue of Buddha Guanyin is perfect in shape, fine workmanship, complex and meticulous carving, skilled in craftsmanship, The posture is majestic, peaceful, smiling, beautiful and youthful. With serene face, with eyes and lips, giving peaceful appearance. Adorned with flowing silks of various garments and jewel ornaments, tiara and the like. Peking glass originated in 18th century China during the rule of the Qing Dynasty. Historically, many pieces of Peking glass were made with yellow glass dubbed Imperial Yellow, due to the colors strong association with the Qing Imperial. It is outstanding in terms of artistic aesthetics and collection value.
