Description
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Nazca, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A hand-built pottery bowl with a rounded base, vertical walls, and a slightly flared lip. The exterior is highly burnished and features a repeating series of foxes painted in their own unique hue ranging from ochre yellow to burgundy red over a cream-colored ground. The minimalist interior is decorated in a rich russet red hue. An amusing example with some flare! Size: 5.15" W x 2.8" H (13.1 cm x 7.1 cm)

Condition
Surface wear commensurate with use and age. Light abrasions to painted surface within interior cavity. Light fading to painted motif and burnished finish. Inventory numbering in black pigment on base. Otherwise, in good condition and fully intact. Wonderful presentation!
