Description
Frances Davis Portrait of Mrs. Walter Paepcke. Signed "FRANCES DAVIS" c.r. Pencil and charcoal on paper, sight size 13 x 5 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Gentle rippling, not examined out of frame. This portrait was reproduced in the November 1933 issue of a periodical, with the caption "Mrs. Walter Paepcke/The Pooch Ball called forth Chicago's most fashionable and beautiful women. From among this select coterie Mrs. McLaughlin chose Mrs. Paepcke as the best-dressed. This fashion portrait of Mrs. Paepcke is by Frances Davis." A copy of the article is enclosed in an envelope affixed to the frame backing.
