Description

This is an incredible FULL size hand carved replica of a Siebe Gorman diving helmet! In addition to the helmet is an ornately carved wood stand shown in the photos.

Untold hours were put into the creation of this piece. Not only is the helmet full size, all the components were individually carved and then installed. For example, all 12 wing nuts, breastplate studs, brails, spitcock valve, exhaust valve, air fitting, faceplate, and even the safety latch are individual pieces that are also removeable. In addition, the bonnet and breastplate separate just like the authentic helmet.

The back of the breastplate features the name of the company that made this piece of art. The front features a great replica of the Siebe Gorman ID plate. Glass is present in all three windows. The stand is one piece of wood and quite heavy. The helmet has a few minor scratches from handling wear and age.

All diving helmets in this auction will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Nations Attic. The certificate will have a unique number that will match the number on a tamperproof hologram decal placed inside the helmet. This information will be kept on permanent file at Nations Attic and help ensure the provenance of the helmet and authenticity. The display stand shown in the photos is not included. The option to purchase one after the auction will be provided.
