Autograph Letter Signed ("Freud") to Dr. Max Levy-Suhl commenting on the growing interest in psychoanalyses 1 p. (223 x 142 mm) in German, on "Wien, IX, Bergstrasse 10" letterhead, Berlin-Tegel June 6, 1930, matted and framed with the envelope and a portrait photograph of Freud.
SIGMUND FREUD COMMENTING ON THE GROWING INTEREST IN PSYCHOANALYSES: " I regard your book as a new sign of the progressive familiarization With the content of psychoanalysis ... In describing your development, I was most impressed by the sentence that your experiences went against what you wished for and your expectations. It was the same for me at the time." Max Levy-Suhl (1876-1947) was one of the great practicing psychotherapists in early 20th century Berlin. He explains his changing approach of psychoanalysis in his book Die seelischen Heilmethoden des Arztes. Eine Lehre vom neurotischen Menschen, published in 1930. This is presumably the book Levy-Suhl send to Freud. A transcription of the letter is available upon request.
