Description
AMERICAN SEWER TILE ANIMAL FIGURES, LOT OF THREE, brown-glazed, comprising a regal looking eagle on a rounded base with "E J E" inscribed to underside; a sad-looking puppy seated on a rectangular base having "Nobody Loves me" to front and "1928" and "T. B." on back; and a Staffordshire-style seated spaniel with collar and open-bottomed. Probably Ohio. Circa 1925. 6 7/8" HOA.
Undamaged, spaniel with some minor wear to glaze on raised areas.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
Eagle: Shirley Chambers, Bedford (NH) Pickers Market, 8/10/2001.
Puppy: Phillip Frier Antiques, Women's Club of Evanston (IL) Show, 5/18/1984.
