CARVED SOAPSTONE INKWELLS / INKSTANDS, LOT OF SIX, comprising a large square form with incised decoration, a rectangular form with incised swag decoration and carved "1750" date to base, a round form with original center insert and carved "C[S?]" initials to base, a small square form with chamfered corners and carved "AB" initials to side, an octagonal form with carved "FWH" initials to side, and a square form with chamfered corners, three examples with two or four holes to hold pens. Second half 18th/first half 19th century. Large square form 3" SQ, 2 1/2" HOA.
Fair to very good overall condition with usage wear, minor to significant surface scratches, some flaking and chipping.
