The text [of Volume II] covers the period 1763-1828. Haliburton, a Nova Scotian, trained to law, sat in the Assembly from 1826 and was judge in Nova Scotian courts from 1829 till he retired to England in 1856...He later gained distinction as a humourous writer under the pseudonym, Sam Slick (TPL).Haliburton is the father of Canadian humor and the author of the Clockmaker serial. This, however, is a serious history of Nova Scotia from 1763 to 1828. (Volume II 1763-1828).
