Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti of a slender form covered in attractive blue-green glaze. The figure stands with fused legs atop an integral plinth, holds a pick and hoe in crossed arms, and supports a seed bag draped over the left shoulder. The face features ovoid eyes and thin lips above a plaited false beard, and the lappets of the tripartite wig drape atop the shoulders. A T-shaped hieroglyphic inscription is shown along the obverse and perhaps provides the name of the deceased. Size: 1.1" W x 4.4" H (2.8 cm x 11.2 cm)
