Description
probably late Ming dynasty, ovoid jar decorated with underglaze blue rings along the shoulder and foot, the body enamel decorated with leafy scrolls and large blossoms, with carved and pierced wooden lid, overall 5-7/8 x 4 in.
Provenance: Sotheby's Parke-Bernet, New York, NY, Lot 264, purchased November 1974 for $130 (accompanied by copy of invoice and catalog page); Private Collection, Durham, North Carolina
